Boston Symphony Orchestra visits China

Arriving in Shanghai, the BSO becomes the first American orchestra to visit Communist China since normalization of relations with the U.S. The orchestra performs four concerts and a set of master classes in Shanghai. The tour culminates with a performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony with members of the Chinese Central Philharmonic Orchestra in the Capital Stadium at Beijing.
